Febr. 11  Finnair, Oslo-Helsinki-New Dehli. Excellent.

Febr. 12 New Dehli-Colombo. Sri Lanka Airways. Very good. Three nights in  Renuka hotel, Colombo, midrange,  centrally located and very comfortable

Febr. 15 Early morning train to Kandy. Expo-Rail booked from Oslo. Very good.

Febr.15-18 Three nights in River Valley residence, B&B, about 5 km from Kandy. Very cheap. Lovely, excellent service.  Visited temples, University,  Botanic Garden. Hiking in Royal Forest Park, Udawattakele.  One day’s excursion to Sigiriya.

Febr. 18-22 By car to Nuwara Eliya. Stayed four nights. Very nice town. The Golf Green guesthouse, B&B. Good/very good. Cheap. Hiking to Single tree hill, Lover’s leap. Excursion and hiking  in Horton plains national park.

Febr. 22-24  By train to Ella. Fabulous.  Stayed in Country homes B&B. Average/below average. Better to find a more quiet place near the mountains. Unforgettable hike to Ella Rock on a clear day. Small Adam’s peak next day.

Febr. 24-26 By car to Le Green Udawalawe. Family hotel. Very good, close to Udawalawe national park.  Good food.

Febr. 26-1.3 By car to Birds View hotel, Debarawea, Tissamaharama.  Close to Yala park. Average. Quiet, very good for birdwatching. Excursions to Bundala bird sanctuary and Yala park.

March 1-3 By car to Galle. Rampart View Home stay, Fort Galle. Very good

March 3-9  By Tuk-Tuk to Unawatuna beach. Manidi beach resort, below average, very noisy,  moved to Manidi Villa, quiet, comfortable.  Main beach is good for swimming, but Jungle beach about 1 km from Unawatuna is even better

March 9 – 10 By car to Negombo, overnight in Shanketha Palace hotel. Cheap, very comfortable room. Free airport shuttle.

March 10 Sri Lankan Airways to New Delhi. Comfortable, but had to be at the airport four hours before departure (!)

March 10- 19. New Delhi and Agra.  Cottage, Yes Please in New Delhi, very good location, spacious rooms, quiet and cheap in a lively area, Pahar Ganj, close to train station and Metro.  Train New Delhi -Agra- New Delhi, cheap, comfortable and fast. One night in Aman homestay. Excellent. Visited Taj Mahal, Agra Red Fort, Itimad-ul-Daulah. The last night was spent in Holiday Inn hotel New Delhi, near the airport. Excellent. Free Airport shuttle.

March 19 Finnar. New Delhi-Helsinki-Oslo.
